Misanthropic (misanthropic.chat) is a parody AI assistant. This page says what the site collects when you use it, why, and for how long. The short version: no accounts, no chat history, no ads, nothing sold.
Your message is sent to the site so it can write an answer. It is screened for crisis content, and if it passes, a language model running on Cloudflare Workers AI writes a sentence or two into a pre-written insult. Your message is not saved as a conversation and is not tied to you.
To keep costs down, a one-way hash of the message is used as a cache key, and the answer is stored under that key for up to 30 days, so the same message can get a stored answer. The hash cannot be turned back into your message, and nothing in the cache records who asked.
The site keeps one number in your browser's local storage: how many answers you have had, which changes the ending after a few. It is sent with each request and not kept. There are no cookies for tracking. Clearing site data resets it.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, referring sites, countries and browser types without cookies and without identifying you. Cloudflare also keeps short-lived operational logs of requests and errors, which are used only to fix problems and expire automatically after a few days.
Only if you press Hall of Shame under an answer: your message and that answer are stored, with no IP address or anything else about you, so they can be reviewed. Approved entries are published at misanthropic.chat/shame. Anything not approved is deleted, and unreviewed entries expire after 30 days. Anything that looks personal, such as an email address, phone number, link or handle, is refused before it is stored. To have a published entry removed, email the address below.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to read and answer you.
Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the model, the bot check, the analytics and the storage. Its privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. The tip jar (Ko-fi) and the merch store (Printful) are separate sites with their own policies; nothing is shared with them unless you go there.
We do not sell or share personal data, show ads, build profiles, or use your messages to train any model.
The site uses strong language and is meant for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect anything from children.
You can clear your browser storage at any time. Because we do not keep accounts or chat history, there is usually nothing tied to you to access or delete; if you think there is, or you want a Hall of Shame entry removed, email us and we will deal with it.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
